Historic Zone Regeneration,
Isfahan, Iran

1- Investigation and recognition of the strategic area
The urban design regeneration project of the historic area of Isfahan was chosen to revive the central core of the city, which was located next to Naqsh Jahan square and its historical complex, and included the market, mosques and the Ali Qapu mansion, which belonged to the Safavid period (1501 - 1736 AD).
In the first step, I investigated the strategic area, which included the city of Isfahan and the strategic area of the region. These studies included demographic, economic, transportation, social, physical and environmental studies. Then I examined the existing plans, such as the detailed plan and the master plan of Isfahan city. According to the surveys, the main structure of the area was identified and the main goals were formulated.
2- Study and recognition of the local action area
In the local field, I studied the block system, mass and space, permeability, public open spaces system. In the physical part, I investigated the utilization system, floors, age of the building and the classification of the units. At the same time, in the social sector, the system of behavioral centers was also investigated. In the aesthetic department, the mental and perceptive landscape system and the sky line and details were recognized. In addition to all this, I examined climate and environmental issues such as noise and water pollution and finally presented an integrated analysis of the entire process in the form of a comprehensive map.

3- Design Area
At this stage, I investigated the deeper understanding of the field of design and its scope and defined environmental quality improvement projects. The result of this research was the formulation of the scope vision document, from which goals and strategies were determined.
4- Urban Design Framework
Compilation of the urban design framework document and the 3D master plan document was done at this stage, and I prepared detailed plans and rules and regulations, codes, standards, briefs, and guidelines.
